Governor Abbott Appoints Three To Texas Board Of Professional Engineers

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Ademola “Peter” Adejokun, Rolando Rubiano, and Kiran Shah to the Texas Board of Professional Engineers for terms set to expire on September 26, 2023. The board licenses qualified engineers and regulates the practice of professional engineering.
Ademola “Peter” Adejokun of Arlington is a software engineer with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, and is a licensed professional engineer and a certified Project Management Professional. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Association for Computing Machinery and a member of the Project Management Institute, The International Council on Systems Engineering, and the InfraGard National Infrastructure Protection Program. He has served on the National Council of Examiners of Engineering and Surveyors Software Engineering PE Licensure Exam Committee, and currently serves on The University of Texas at Arlington Computer Science and Engineering Department Industry Advisory Board and the City of Arlington’s Zoning Board of Adjustments. Ademola received a Bachelor of Science in computer science engineering and a Bachelor of Science in physics from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Rolando Rubiano of Harlingen is the principal engineer and senior partner of Green, Rubiano & Associates, Inc. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Texas Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, and American Concrete Institute. He served on the Texas Industrialized Building Code Council from 2008 to 2018, and served as chair from 2014 to 2017. He is a member of the Valley International Airport Board of Directors and the City of Harlingen Audit Committee and past president of his local chapter of American Concrete Institute. Additionally, he is a former member of the 2008 Governor’s Committee for Disaster Recovery and Renewal and the Diocesan School Advisory Council for the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville, past president of St. Anthony Catholic School Council, and past advisory committee chair at Texas State Technical College. Rubiano received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
Kiran Shah of Richmond is an independent owner and operator of multiple national hotel franchises. He is a member of the Hotel and Lodging Association of Houston and a former member of the Texas Board of Licensure for Professional Medical Physicists. He is a former ambassador and current member of the government affairs committee of the Asian American Hotel Owners’ Association and former commissioner of the Houston Clean City Commission. Additionally, he serves on the board of the India Culture Center of Houston, and he is the past vice chair of the Sardar Patel Cultural Club and past secretary of the Gujarati Samaj of Houston. Shah received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the M.S. University of Baroda, India and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Gujarat, India.
