The 16th Annual Texas Med Run Focuses on Children's Needs
The Harris Health System CAPES Program provides more than just support for families across the country

January 17, 2018 - Houston, Texas - The 16th Annual The Texas Med Run, 10K. 5K Run/Walk and Kids K, will be highlighting the growing need of support for children in the Houston area.
The Harris Health System Children of Adult Patients Enduring Stressors (CAPES) Program provides emotional support, educational resources, and therapeutic activities for children who's loved ones are diagnosed with a life threatening illness.
"This is a monumental moment for the family - for both the parents and children. These moments can destabilize lives, leaving questions unanswered and feelings unattended to. Our goal is to maximize the families' ability to cope with the stressors." Jeff Baker, Executive Director, HCHD Foundation.
The 16th Annual Texas Med Run will take place Saturday, February 3, 2018, and run through the Medical Center area of Houston, Texas. The 10K and 5K are USATF-Certified, making their race a qualifier for competitive runners.
