Yesterday Council Member Brenda Stardig held a joint press conference with HPD, Crime Stoppers, Spring Branch ISD (SBISD), and the SBISD police to highlight recent safety incidents where female students were approached and grabbed on the way to school. Today HPD reported that the suspect is now in custody.

“I am thankful that the students were able get away and report the incident to the proper authorities,” Council Member Stardig said. “I am proud of HPD for their excellent work in tracking down the suspect. I have zero tolerance for anything that might harm our children. I would like to remind everyone to continue to watch out for your neighbors. When the community comes together, we get positive results.”

Council Member Stardig serves at the Chair of the Public Safety & Homeland Security for the City of Houston.
