Whataburger and the Houston Texans donated $156,358 to the Houston Food Bank during a presentation. The presentation was made as part of the third annual Hunger Action Month fundraiser. Special onsite guests included Houston Texans Ambassador Cecil Shorts and the Houston Texans Cheerleaders. From Sept. 17 through Oct. 8, fans were encouraged to donate $1 or more at any of the 141 Houston-area Whataburger locations to the Houston Food Bank to receive a coupon good for a free Whataburger with purchase of a medium fry and 32-ounce drink. The fundraiser resulted in the highest donation in the history of the program. Houston Food Bank President/CEO Brian Greene praised the Houston Texans and Whataburger for their continued support in the fight against hunger.
