(Houston, TX)— This holiday season, visit The Heritage Society in Sam Houston Park, where we are pleased to invite you to join us as we relaunch one of Houston’s most keenly anticipated holiday traditions, our famous Candlelight Tour.

After a one-year hiatus due to Hurricane Harvey, this Houston holiday tradition returns for one night only to take you and your loved ones back in time. Escape the busy holiday preparations and instead stroll through our cozy historic homes and celebrate the season over a warm hearth. The glow of our modern downtown city provides the unique backdrop for a tranquil holiday experience in a historic park.

As you tour historic buildings adorned with traditional holiday decorations, you’ll marvel as our expert guides tell the stories of life in 19th century Houston. From pioneer demonstrations in our 1823 Old Place, to a fancy feast fit for the wealthiest man in town, to a humble traditional German Christmas, you will see it all! Then, in the historic St. John Church, built in 1891 by German and Swiss immigrant farmers, you’ll be filled with holiday spirit as The Houston Boychoir performs classic holiday songs.

We think you too will embrace our Candlelight Tour as your own new family tradition that your children and grandchildren will cherish for decades to come.

The Heritage Society is funded in part by grants from the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
