One escaped inmate captured, one still on the loose

An escaped inmate has been captured in Louisville, KY but another remains on the loose.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WLKY) -- A tip led officers to one of the two inmates who escaped from Metro Corrections over the weekend.

Police said Justin Stumler and Jeremy Hunt were working in the kitchen when they disappeared around 10 p.m. Saturday. Police said Stumler was arrested Monday morning in the area of Preston Highway at Indiana Trail without incident. A witness told WLKY Stumler was knocking on doors, trying to pay people to hide in their apartments.

Hunt is still at large, officials said.

Police said inmates Gary Bradford, Tajuan Burton and Justin Rankin are accused of helping the men hide inside trash cans to get out of jail. They are charged with facilitation escape.

According to police, Stumler was in jail on car theft and drug charges. Hunt was convicted of escape in 2005. His most recent charges included multiple felony burglaries.

Anyone with information on the wherabouts of Hunt is asked to call police.
