The Trump Administration has flatly refused to turn over any evidence from the White House in Centro Presente v. Trump, a lawsuit challenging President Trump’s termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a life-saving humanitarian program for immigrants from Honduras, El Salvador and Haiti.
Lawyers for Civil Rights is taking the government to court to demand that the White House turn over witnesses and documents that can help demonstrate the depth of the racism and discrimination infecting the TPS cancellation.
As longstanding immigration protections continue to be stripped away by the government, this federal court hearing will determine whether the American people have a right to know what happens behind closed doors in the Trump Administration.
The court will address the scope of executive privilege and what the government must produce in lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of its actions.
WHEN: Tuesday, April 23rd at 3 PM
WHERE: The motion to compel will be heard by Judge Denise Casper in Courtroom 11 in the Moakley Federal Courthouse in Boston. The hearing is open to the public.
