December 8th, 2019 at a local Walmart in Marietta, GA, author D.L. Collins waited for six families to pick up their layaway for the holidays. Little did the families know that they would be able to take their layaway home completely paid off.

Collins has always had a passion for service, with his Sally Saver series he's been able to teach the youth how to steward over their finances, Collins enjoys serving others through giving and mentorship because he went without growing up and he knows what that feels like.

Now that Collins is able to give the gift of giving he does so as often as he can, Collins believes how you serve is a measure of your works and that those who give graciously are favored.

One matriarch was overwhelmed by the gesture as she embraced Collins. This grandmother had recently lost her daughter and graciously took in her three grandchildren to raise. Of course she wanted to give them the best Christmas and this act of kindness allowed her to do just that.
