“We have 11 years left and Bernie is showing that through his climate plan he understands that timeline and he’s going to address it with the urgency that we ned,” Hajebi says.

On December 5th, the Sunrise Movement released their Presidential Candidate scorecard, Sanders received the highest score of any candidate. The following day, Sanders addressed a crowd of youth activists striking for climate justice in Iowa. After the speech, several leaders of U.S. Youth Climate Strike, Co-Founder and Partnerships Director Isra Hirsi, Executive Director Felíquan Charlemagne, Political Director Daylon Prochaska and Creative Director Pujan Patel, announced their support for. Sanders’ campaign for president.

Sanders’ Green New Deal would create up to 20 million good-paying jobs transforming our energy system to 100 percent renewable energy by 2030, ensure justice for frontline communities and hold fossil fuel companies accountable for the devastation they have caused.
