Houston, TX – Feb. 18, 2019 – Local attorney and entrepreneur Edward Pollard officially announces his candidacy for Houston City Council District J. Pollard is the proprietor of Pollard Legal Group, which primarily focuses on personal injury cases.

Throughout his candidacy, Pollard plans to address some of the city’s most critical issues as they directly relate to District J including flood mitigation, neighborhood blight, transportation, public safety and economic development.

“I believe I will bring a fresh perspective to politics because I am open-minded and value all ideas and all people regardless of background or circumstance. I am someone who is not afraid to think outside the box and use creative innovative ways to resolve old problems with new solutions. I object to the status quo and the notion that ‘we’ve always done it this way.’ In order to have a prosperous future, where everyone is afforded an opportunity to be the best version of themselves, we must work together and understand that our diversity is our strength, and collectively there is nothing we cannot achieve when we remain Houston strong,” Pollard said.

During this time, he served as the personal legal clerk to Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan and was later selected as a legislative aide for State Representative Dawnna Dukes during the 82nd Legislative Session.

After passing the bar on his first attempt, Edward began practicing at the Harris Law Firm, a boutique firm in the Galleria area, where he focused on civil litigation and governmental affairs. In January 2018, Pollard opened his own firm.

As a servant leader, Pollard co-founded Suits for Success, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that teaches life skills to male graduating seniors.
