Following the biggest year in his career, Travis Scott just donated $100,000 to Workshop Houston, a nonprofit and after-school program in the Third Ward. Workshop Houston was a participant in Scott's Astroworld festival last year along with several other nonprofits. There, he learned about the organization's arts and education program, prompting the donation. According to Workshop Houston, some of Scott's donation will go to programs including one in which local students recreate former first lady Michelle Obama's Milly gown, which was portrayed in her official White House portrait. The organization also will host a drone racing competition with entries created by local student teams. The event will be May 17 at Space Center Houston. Workshop Houston celebrated its 15th year in the Third Ward last year, a path that began as a community space for bicycle repairs before evolving into a program for junior high and high school students.
