Retail is evolving, and for Walmart to remain a global leader within the retail space, there is a need for continual innovation. To kick off 2019, Walmart is sharing new ways to shop and new innovations in stores that make the retail experience more convenient for customers. Over the last year, a long list of retail innovations was introduced or expanded in Texas. According to the company, there are currently, more than 300 Texas stores offering grocery pickup and nearly 100 stores equipped with a Pickup Tower-- with additional expansion planned for 2019 across the state. Stores in the cities of Austin, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Houston, Lubbock and San Antonio currently offer grocery delivery to metro-area customers. All Texas Walmart Supercenters offer Check Out With Me, the Dotcom Store and Handheld Apps, Store Maps, Third-Party Return to Store and VR training. The Autonomous Shelf Scanner is active in 13 Texas stores. The FAST Unloader is active in 71 Texas stores.
