Governor Abbott Appoints Perkes To Thirteenth Court Of Appeals

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Greg Perkes to the Thirteenth Court of Appeals for a term set to expire on December 31, 2020, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
Greg Perkes of Corpus Christi is owner of Perkes Law Firm, P.C., and previously served as a justice on the Thirteenth Court of Appeals from 2011-2016. He is board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Civil Appellate Law Commission, board member of the Cameron County Bar Association, and a fellow of the College of the State Bar of Texas. He is a former board member of the Texas Center for the Judiciary, Corpus Christi Bar Association, and the Hidalgo County Bar Association, and a board member and Legislative Committee member of the State Bar of Texas Judicial Section. He is a Leadership Corpus Christi graduate, Alumni Board of Governors, Board of Directors, and Class Steering Committees. He is a member of the Corpus Christi Chamber Board of Directors, Corpus Christi Mustangs, Corpus Christi Rotary Club. Additionally, he is a Unit Commission and Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America. Perkes received a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
