(CNN) -- Alex Rodriguez knew what he wanted in life and got exactly that -- a date with Jennifer Lopez.

It just took almost two decades.

Rodriguez predicted his relationship with singer in a 1998 interview clip shared by MLB Network's Intentional Talk.

"What would a dream date with Alex Rodriguez be?" A-Rod was asked.

The then-Seattle Mariners baseball star answered with nearly no hesitation.

"Jennifer Lopez," he said. "Hopefully, you can find me a date with her."

Fast forward to 2019, and it looks like A-Rod's dreams have beyond come true.

"I just had a feeling," Rodriguez wrote on Instagram, where he also shared the video clip.

And, of course, Lopez also found the video and gushed.

"OMG... i love this too much," she commented on her fiancé's post.

"When you know, you know," he replied.

Rodriguez and Lopez began dating in 2017 and announced their engagement in March.
