Over 75,000 paid to see rapper and entertainer Cardi B setting a record for the first time Rodeo Houston performer. Reports claim that Cardi took the lead from Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo favorite Garth Brooks by just three people. Brooks had 75, 577 and Cardi had 75,580. However, some fans still want to dispute the facts. KHOU went to the source of Joel Cowley, president and CEO of HLSR, who said both Cardi and Brooks are record holders. “Cardi B’s performance is the record paid rodeo attendance, meaning there was a rodeo held that day. George Strait holds the all-time NRG stadium attendance record, because we pulled out the entire rodeo arena and put over 7,000 seats on the floor. We were able to sell 80,020 tickets,” Cowley told KHOU. This response is a lot better than last year’s Black Heritage Day performer, Leon Bridges, who had the lowest attendance records in recent years with 51,965.
