This evening Houston Fire Department officials notified METRO that new structural concerns were discovered at the downtown building damaged by Thursday's multi-alarm fire. The building, located at the intersection of Main St. and Walker St., sits adjacent to the Red Line's Main Street Square Northbound platform. As a safety precaution, METRO will continue the suspension of rail service from the Downtown Transit Center to the Burnett Transit Center. This is expected to last through tomorrow afternoon, possibly longer.

METRO will continue to provide free bus shuttle service along those portions of the METRORail Red Line to Houston Astros fans and other customers this weekend. METRO will also have personnel directing and assisting riders at each rail platform where shuttle service is being offered.

Riders should expect service impacts until the Houston Fire Department determines the area is safe and full service can resume.

Please monitor METRO's Twitter and Facebook pages for timely updates. METRO also offers real-time information through its service alerts system.
