Red Line Expected to Resume Downtown Service Saturday Morning

Service along METRORail's Red Line is expected to resume at the start of service Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019. Rail service will run its normal schedule from the Downtown Transit Center to Burnett Transit Center Station.
This follows yesterday's building fire in downtown Houston. The multi-alarm blaze, which occurred at Main St. and Walker St., necessitated the partial shutdown of the Red Line as emergency crews worked to extinguish the fire. As a safety precaution, the Red Line remained closed through Friday as engineers evaluated the structural integrity of the building.
During the closure, METRO is providing free bus shuttles to transport customers.
