When John Osback was 4 years old, his father, mother and grandfather took him to the zoo. When they got to the monkeys, he told them he had a blue monkey on his shoulder. His grandfather laughed and said he had pink elephants. At 4 years old, he did not get the joke.
Based from this experience, Osback writes “Joey the Blue Monkey” (published by AuthorHouse), a story about Sam, a young boy and his vivid imagination, Joey, his imaginary friend and the fun time they have at the zoo.
“This is a simple, lighthearted story that will bring a smile to your face. It also has very appealing illustrations,” Osback says. “It is a happy story. Everyone needs to smile sometimes.”
The publication of “Joey the Blue Monkey” aims to remind readers about the importance of keeping an open mind and letting their imagination soar. “I would also like them to feel good after reading this story,” Osback adds.
