The Houston Texans will welcome former Texans players on Sunday, Oct. 27 when they take on the Oakland Raiders in the annual Homecoming Game presented by Palais Royal. This game will conclude the Texans’ Fantennial Weekend in honor of celebrating 100 years of the NFL. Kickoff is set for 3:25 p.m. CT at NRG Stadium and will be broadcasted on CBS.

Many Texans Legends will be returning for the annual Homecoming weekend. This three-day weekend provides an opportunity for Legends to reconnect with former teammates and the Houston Texans community. The Homefield Advantage Captain for Sunday’s game will be Pro-Bowler and now Houston Texans Legend, former defensive end, Antonio Smith. Better known as the “Ninja Assassin,” Smith played for the Texans from 2009-13 and again in 2016. Over the course of his 12-year career, Smith worked his way up from the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad to become a regular starter. He has made two Super Bowl appearances, including a win in the 2015 Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos, and one Pro-Bowl appearance in 2012. Throughout the course of his career, Smith has registered 315 tackles, 47.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries. Homecoming weekend will officially kickoff on Friday, Oct. 25 with Friday Night Football as Pearland High School faces off against Alief Hastings High School.

Throughout the week, the Houston Texans’ Fantennial Celebration was held in honor of the 100th season of the National Football League. On Tuesday, Oct. 22 members of the Houston Texans joined forces with Palais Royal at the Huddle for 100 Volunteer Project. As part of the NFL’s Huddle for 100 program, which encourages others to spend 100 minutes of their day volunteering, Texans players, staff, Lady Texans, Cheerleaders, TORO, Texans Legends and representatives from Palais Royal lent a hand in cleaning and refurbishing an outdoor play space at Whidby Elementary School. Saturday, Oct. 26 the Texans Fantennial Rally will take place at Emancipation Park where fans can enjoy autographs from Texans Legends, TORO and Houston Texans Cheerleaders, a Deep Steal Thunder Performance, and other fun activities.
