Trick or Treat at the Texas Renaissance Festival On All Hallows Eve Weekend

Halloween-themed festivities about at the festival Oct. 26-27

Prepare for a frightfully good time at the Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF) during All Hallows Eve weekend on Oct. 26 – 27. Children will receive a trick or treat bag at the gate each day, courtesy of Royal Fireworks sponsor Top Dog (while supplies last). Kids can then visit TRF vendors to fill their bags with treats (and hopefully no tricks).

There will be a costume contest at 2 p.m. each day at the Joust arena, and for those brave enough, sign up for the kettle corn eating contest at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Gazebo. Weekend visitors will also see pumpkins decorated by each shop vying for bragging rights during the annual pumpkin carving contest.

Looking to explore the creepier side of the festival? Reveling ghouls and goblins can venture into Sherwood Forest and check out the Museum of Cruelty or the Slayers Castle (shop 140), where there will be special events held all weekend.

As the Texas Renaissance Festival wraps up the month of October, the 45th anniversary season continues through November with the following themed weekends:

Nov. 2-3: Return to the Renaissance

Nov. 9-10: Heroes and Villains

Nov. 16-17: Barbarian Invasion

Nov. 23-24: Highland Fling

Nov. 28–Dec. 1: Celtic Christmas

Festival tickets are available the gate and online at texrenfest.com, Groupon and Costco. Children under four are always free, while children under 12 are admitted free to the festival every Sunday.
