Change Happens is hosting an open house to present its State of Third Ward address. In collaboration with urban planning specialist Jason T. Hyman, the organization is bringing together members of the Third Ward, real estate, private, public and nonprofit communities for a collaborative discussion. This discussion on the current state of housing and economic development in the area will serve as a catalyst for collaboration among local housing and development stakeholders for current and future development of affordable homes and economic standards in the area.

The event happens Wednesday, September 18th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the El Dorado Ballroom, 2310 Elgin St, Houston, TX 77004.

Change Happens received a $750,000 grant from Wells Fargo to implement community improvements over five years in the areas of neighborhood building, education, economic development and workforce, housing, and services for children, youth, and families through the Northern Third Ward Implementation project. The implementation plan, which largely informs the City of Houston's Third Ward Complete Communities plan builds on insight from community partners like Jason T. Hyman and Third Ward Super Neighborhood. The office of Jason T. Hyman is committed to bridging the generational wealth gap found in minority communities through creative applications of urban planning, community engagement, and responsible development.
