LAKE CHARLES, La.– April 10, 2020–Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and American Express (NYSE: AXP), recently announced in partnership with Hilton’s ownership community, will donate up to 1 million hotel room nights across the United States to front-line medical professionals leading the fight against COVID-19.

Beginning April 13, 2020, Hilton and American Express will make rooms available without charge to doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics and other front-line medical staff who need a place to sleep, recharge or isolate from their families through the end of May.

Hilton is working initially with 10 associations that collectively represent more than 1 million health-care workers to provide access to the program, which is designed to support individuals who otherwise would have to spend their own money on accommodations.

Tru by Hilton Lake Charles has chosen to participate in the program to show its appreciation to those medical professionals working tirelessly on the frontlines to ensure that our families, and communities are healthy during this pandemic. “We are excited to be a part of such a large hotel family that is choosing to opt-in and participate in this program making it easy for front-line medical workers to get to the areas that need them with less burdens on them financially. We would like to say Thank you to Hilton and American Express for creating such a great program.” said, Nimesh Zaver, Owner Tru by Hilton Lake Charles.

“We have provided our team members with additional training and policies on relevant health and safety measures to protect themselves, and our guests’ well-being. Guestrooms and public areas will continue to be sanitized using updated cleaning protocols. We are extremely proud to join Hilton and American Express in saying Thank You to all Healthcare Workers at this time.” said Dipti Zaver, General Manager Tru by Hilton Lake Charles.
