East End Houston Business Leaders Unite to Provide Support to USO Troops

Large Donation of Hand Sanitizers and Face Masks to Fight COVID-19

The Houston East End Chamber of Commerce will hold a press conference to announce and present the donation of a large number of hand sanitizers and face masks for 2,000 USO troops, who are stationed across three highly populated areas of Louisiana and Texas. This initiative complements a nationwide effort to provide the needed safety to our troops and their families while they help combat COVID-19 in our communities across the country. It also broadens the ability to respond to the diverse and unpredictable environment of our military.

The donation is possible thanks to the contribution of East End’s Gulf Coast Distillery and Texas Mattress Makers. Gulf Coast Distillery, the largest distillery in Texas with roots in the East End, recently shifted its manufacturing capacity to C4U Hand Sanitizers. The sanitizers are now being supplied to hospitals, clinics, first responders, and in local stores. Texas Mattress Makers, a well-known manufacturer and retailer of mattresses in the Houston area, has also shifted its manufacturing capacity to produce face masks.
