Mayor Sylvester Turner, City of Houston, Councilman Robert Gallegos with Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Senior Member of the Homeland Security Committee and UMMC will officially announce the launch of the sixth UMMC COVID-19 drive through testing site. The United States has 887,787 reported cases and 50,177 deaths, Texas has 22,806 cases and 593 deaths and Harris County has 5,330 reported cases and 82 deaths from coronavirus as of Thursday, April 24, 2020. This is part of the planned effort to create massive testing in Houston to stop community spread.
