Traditionally held at Market Square Park, the Downtown District brings back its popular Blanket Bingo series with a virtual twist in light of COVID-19. The free events, hosted by John Mills-McCoin, will take place on Saturday, May 9 and Thursday, May 21. Houstonians are invited to take out their blankets at home, log on to bingomaker.com and play for the chance to win a $50 gift card to a selection of Downtown Houston restaurants.

Participants are encouraged to help those impacted by COVID-19 by making a donation to Houston Shift Meal, an organization dedicated to providing restaurant and hospitality industry workers with meals. The Downtown District will match the amount raised by bingo players. Individuals can make donations online at houstonshiftmeal.com/donations by entering a first name and “Blanket Bingo” under “Individual Donation.”

Instructions for how to join Virtual Blanket Bingo can be found on the Facebook event pages here and here. Please visit marketsquarepark.com for additional details and event updates.
