BRIC, a Brooklyn-based leading arts and media institution will present the 42nd annual BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival: Live Everywhere, this Saturday, July 25th and Sunday, July 26th, hosted by actress and comedian Michelle Buteau. BRIC teamed up with MediaMonks, a global digital production company, to craft a newly reinvented and highly immersive, multi-platform, “digital destination,” bringing the spirit of Brooklyn to the global stage. LiveXP, MediaMonks’ proprietary technology solution, will offer attendees from all around the world, a new way to experience music, the chance to get up close and personal with artists through live Q&A sessions, polls, trivia, and engage in a two-way dialogue between performer and viewer otherwise impossible. BRIC also collaborated with visual artists Shantell Martin, best known for her large scale, black-and-white drawings to create a painting during Madison McFerrin’s performance and Glendalys Medina, a Puerto Rican, conceptual interdisciplinary visual artist, will form a motion animation piece, inspired by music and art during Puerto Rican pop duo Buscabulla for a unique and custom experience. Additionally, President and CEO of The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, David Ehrenberg, will be honored and presented with the 2020 Celebrate Brooklyn! Award during the festival. BRIC has also commissioned over a dozen Brooklyn-based artists to perform and record a reimagined rendition of Roy Ayers’ classic, “We Live in Brooklyn Baby,” which will premiere during the festival.
