Karen Bass is now a top contender to be the Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee with her odds plummeting on Tuesday morning.
Bass, 66, who has represented Los Angeles in the House for five terms, joins a slate of prominent women of colour who are in the mix to stand with Biden on the Democratic ticket.
BoyleSports introduced Bass at odds of 20/1 last week but those odds didn’t last long as they have plummeted all the way into 4/1 making her the third favourite behind Kamala Harris and Susan Rice.
Kamala Harris, the former Attorney General of California, has been backed into 11/10 from 11/8 with BoyleSports to be the vice-presidential candidate to run alongside Joe Biden for the White House later this year.
Susan Rice has already spent plenty of time in the White House being Barack Obama’s former national security advisor, but she could be heading back there as her odds on becoming the next Vice President shrunk further last week.
The former United States Ambassador to the United Nations is now the shortest price she has ever been to replace Mike Pence with her odds tumbling into 10/3 from 5/1 following an increase in support.
Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Karen Bass has shot up the betting today to become the running mate to Joe Biden with her odds crumbling into 4/1 from 20/1. Some see California Sen. Kamala Harris as the ideal Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate and the Californian senator is now 11/10 favourite from 11/8 but the main bulk of support is for Karen Bass.”
