Louisiana Technology Park member company Relief Telemed, a virtual care platform, announced today that it has launched it’s COVID Mitigation Platform. The platform provides a turnkey solution to businesses who experience an employee testing positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Relief Telemed’s COVID Mitigation Platform is a combination of software and services. Once an employer has identified exposed employees, the software reaches out and gets exposed employees into a protocol starting with a virtual visit with a healthcare provider and ending with a customized action plan on next steps. According to Vishal Vasanji, Co-founder & CEO of Relief Telemed, “Within 48 to 72 hours, we can have a complete action plan for each employee tested. The whole idea is to be speedy with our process so that businesses can be up and running as quickly as possible.”

The platform is a turnkey solution so that all employee, lab, and physician coordination is completely handled by Relief Telemed. “There is a lot of coordination that goes into testing a large group of individuals; it can be especially stressful when there could be a financial or public relations impact if not dealt with properly. Our goal is to make the experience and ordeal as painless as possible.” says Vasanji.

Through the Relief Telemed app, employees speak to a provider about their symptoms or general health. After the employee completes their video consultation, the system automatically sends available time slots for the employee to be tested onsite. The employee checks in with a nurse and gets tested. Both a rapid antibody test and a COVID-19 nasal swab are performed. Specimens are then sent to a lab for processing. Once results come in, the treating provider reviews the medical chart, antibody test results, and COVID test results. All this information is used to create a custom action plan for each employee and presented to the employer through a web-based dashboard. Through the dashboard, the employer has complete insight into what stage of the protocol the employee is in and the rate of exposure throughout their organization.
