[HOUSTON, TX – March 2, 2020 ] –– Denise Hamilton, founder and CEO of WatchHerWork.com, a digital learning platform for professional women, and Reda Hicks, founder and CEO of GotSpot Inc., announced the WatchHerWork Texas Female Founders Day to take place as a kickoff event during South by Southwest (SXSW) 2020, one of the world’s largest conferences focused on technology, music, film and culture. Female Founders Day is an interactive experience geared toward women business owners in the state of Texas who are looking for more resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities. The free event takes place on March 12, 2020, at Austin Community College Eastview Campus (3401 Webberville Rd., Austin, TX) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The conference is customized to meet the specific needs of female founders who are statistically less likely to obtain funding and relevant business advice. Attendees should expect a full day of workshops, mentor sessions, round table discussions, sharing of best practices, networking, as well as dynamic keynotes from established female founders. Relevant sessions and breakouts include Mental Health for Entrepreneurs, Magic of Human Connection, Getting Organized: Tactics and Tools/Overcoming the Overwhelm and more.

"Unfortunately, great conferences can be out of our reach. We wanted to activate female founders who might otherwise not be able to attend SXSW and create curated experiences that support businesses specifically starting in the state of Texas," says Hamilton.

As an added component, Ford Motor Company Fund will sponsor the Ford Female Founders Lab in conjunction with Texas Female Founders Day. Ten Texas-based female founders who attend the conference will be selected to receive: SXSW badges, a free six-night stay in the luxury Ford Female Founders Lab house in Austin, TX (March 11-17), complimentary meals, as well as transportation to the conference and additional curated VIP events during SXSW. To qualify, applicants must be a female founder of a registered business in the state of Texas.
