The Ensemble Theatre has announced that they have canceled the remainder of the 2019-2020 season and fundraising gala. The announcement comes after gaining advice from authorities.

In the fall of 2020, the theatre plans to reopen.

This decision will deplete the theatre of a lot of their funds. Leaning on the community, patrons are asked to donate the value of their remaining tickets to the theatre in preparation for the next season. For information about ticket options, email us at: boxoffice@ensemblehouston.com and we will personally contact you. Please no phone calls until April 6, 2020: 713-520-0055.

Over the past 43 years, The Ensemble Theatre has grown from a tiny storefront theatre to the premier African American performing arts institution in the Southwestern region of the U.S. with national recognition. They need the arts now more than ever to spread joy, explore the human condition and offer a bit of reprieve to our current anxieties.

The Ensemble Theatre is still committed to their mission “to preserve African American artistic expression and enlighten, entertain and enrich a diverse community.” They are exploring new ways to continue our sense of community and provide theatre goers quality artistic engagement.
