With the U.S. unemployment rate at one of the highest in the nation’s history, more families are seeking help to meet those basic needs.

Riceville Mount Olive Baptist Church (located at 11539 S. Gessner in Southwest Houston) will partner with State Representative Alma Allen (D131) and other local officials to provide over 600 boxes and bags of food for area residents on Saturday May 30th. Families will be able to drive through the Church’s parking lot to receive a “Bag of Hope” beginning at 10AM.

“In these uncertain times, we are glad to be able to show God’s love by helping families meet their basic needs,” said Dr. Calvin J. McFadden, Sr., Senior Pastor of Riceville Mount Olive Baptist Church. “ This collaboration with State Rep. Allen and other local officials allows us to continue to provide resources for families in our community.”

Over 75 church volunteers will begin distributing the “Bags of Hope” from 10am to 12 noon on a first come first serve basis.
