Republican leadership in this state and in this country has failed. The coronavirus is still out of control, with the United States under Donald Trump setting a new daily high in cases and Texas under Trump and Abbott closing in on 18,000 deaths.

This election is the difference between life and death. Republicans have proven that they cannot manage the coronavirus and life will never get back to normal under their leadership.

This is the issue that matters the most to the people of Texas and the issue that should be covered as such.

Texas Democratic Party Communications Director Abhi Rahman issued the following statement:

“Republicans have failed the people of Texas. They have failed to protect our communities, they have failed to provide adequate health coverage, and they have failed to rebuild our economy. Trump and every Republican on the ticket has not earned the vote of the people of Texas.

“The issue that matters most is the coronavirus crisis. We must elect new leadership to get past this crisis. Under Republicans, it will get even worse before it gets better. It’s time to elect Joe Biden, a leader who will listen to doctors and experts, protect and expand healthcare coverage, and begin to build our economy back better. It’s time to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. Vote today. It is all hands on deck from now until election day.”
