Starting today, visitors can pay homage to Black Americans killed due to social injustice by viewing the 'Say Their Names' national grassroots initiative.
Installed on Monday, the exhibit is open for public viewing starting today for the next two weeks from 10 am-7 pm. It comes to Houston because of the actions by Houston rapper and activist Trae tha Truth.
The 'Say Their Names' Memorial is a traveling exhibit that was originally started in Portland on Juneteenth. The memorial features over 200 Black Americans like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tamir Rice, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Visitors are asked to wear before coming to view the memorial.
