If you didn’t know, Houston is currently breaking records with the amounts of single-family homes that are being sold. With a 1.2 percent increase in sales, Houston has easily become a sellers’ market. Meaning, we have more interested buyers throughout the city then we do inventory. Since there are fewer homes available, sellers are at an advantage and most receiving multiple offers for their properties.

As a buyer, this can be very intimidating. But, you buying a home should not feel like an uphill battle. Here are some tips on how you can win and score the property of your dreams as a buyer:

Tip #1: Work with A Trusted Agent

This is one of the biggest trans- actions of your life and you need a skilled professional guiding you through the process.

Tip #2: Get Pre-Approved

Buyers who include a pre-ap- proval letter with their offer show the seller and agent that you are a serious and strong candidate.

Tip #3: Be Flexible

As I mentioned, sellers are re- ceiving multiple offers for their homes. So if you see something you love submit your best offer

first and be willing to go over the asking price.

Tip#4: Be Creative

Stand out as a buyer and include a personal letter with your offer. Mention how much you love the house and what it would mean for you to live there. This will let the sellers know you’re serious about buying the home and it will be in good hands.
