Kellogg’s Black History Every Month: A Call for Food Justice

Kellogg Company is continuing to celebrate the launch of its campaign, “Kellogg’s Black History Every Month: A Call for Food Justice.”

The campaign elevates the need for food justice in Black communities, which are often impacted disproportionately by food insecurity. As part of the campaign, we recently made a $10,000 donation to Ivy Leaf Farms in south Houston. The non-profit is dedicated to neighborhood beautification while creating sustainable food access. Based in the Sunnyside Neighborhood, Ivy Leaf Farms and its volunteers grow organic food to help alleviate the neighborhood’s food insecurity concerns.

Their campaign has also partnered with the United Nations World Food Program and Street Art for Mankind to bring their “Zero Hunger” mural series to Houston and five other cities.

Internationally known muralist Dragon76 completed the Houston mural in March, calling it his largest and most ambitious project to date. It’s located on the west side of the Hampton Inn and Suites downtown, on La Branch St.
