Welcome back to The Open House. If you are looking to lease a home in the Houston area, get ready to deal with a frenzy. I am currently working with a few lease clients and let me tell you, it has NOT been an easy process.

Homes hit the market and are immediately receiving lease offers within the same day. If you are on the landlord/seller side, this is a plus for you. My husband and I put our townhome up for lease and within 1 day received multiple interests and within 3 days had tenants ready to move in.

If you are on the tenant/buying side, my advice would be to get ready and be patient. To make this process easier, I would advise you to have these documents on hand before you begin searching for your home:

● A month's worth of pay stubs

● A photocopy of your driver license and social security card

● A completed TREC rental application

Once that is complete, you can go and tour homes knowing that if you like one, you have your entire renters application ready to send over.

Houston is a growing city and still a very popular place to move to. Because of that, leasing is skyrocketing.
