Houston Educator Honored for Outstanding Service

Dr. Reagan Flowers, Chief Knowledge Officer for Education Consulting Services was recently honored as a “2021 Empowered Woman of the Year” by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). The prestigious award was presented to her last week in New York City and her photo was featured on Times Square. IAOTP is an international boutique networking organization that handpicks the world’s finest, most top professionals from different industries. These top professionals are given an opportunity to collaborate, share their ideas, be keynote speakers and to help influence others in their fields.
Dr. Flowers is a former Science teacher at Jack Yates High School and Founder of C-STEM, a Third Ward based non-profit organization focused on educating our children in the STEM disciplines. She is a nationally recognized leader and innovator in STEM education. Dr. Flowers has touched the lives of over 200,000 young people and their families in our city. She has worked with parents and corporate partners to help better educate and empower young people in our community.
Dr. Flowers’ career has led to a successful appointment as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Houston Community College System, a position where her track record of education advocacy, community stakeholder engagement, and demonstrated business acumen has enabled her to strike the right balance as an elected representative. In addition to serving as Vice Chair for the Board of Trustees, she also serves on the Audit Committee with oversight of a nearly $400 million budget. She also recently launched her campaign for Texas House District 147 in the March 1st Democratic Primary.
