Judge KP George has appointed Lamar Consolidated Independent School District Board Trustee Alexander C. Hunt to the Gulf Coast Workforce board in the Education seat effective June 24, 2021. As a member of the Gulf Coast Workforce Board of Directors, Mr. Hunt will represent Fort Bend in Education.
Hunt serves as a leader in the education community in Fort Bend County and has a great perspective on the issues of access faced by many in rural communities desirous of receiving workforce training and support. Hunt’s experience in training future lawyers on the real-life legal and advocacy skills in Houston area high schools, while an adjunct professor at the University of Houston gives him insight into the work required to connect with and support students in workforce development. Additionally, as the co-founder and board chair for the Foster Care Advocacy Center, Hunt continually shows a heart for uplifting the most vulnerable.
“As a member of the Board of Trustees for Lamar CISD, Alex is connected to the career development needs of students and their families through the oversight of the District’s career and technical educational programs,” said Fort Bend County Judge KP George. “This experience will help the board make informed decisions about effective workforce development programming.”
