The Plant Project Houston is launching a special way to shop local in Montrose this holiday season with a “Home for the Holidays” boutique-style shopping experience featuring fresh goods and unique gifts from local farmers, artisans, professional gardeners, and small business owners!

The Plant Project shop, located at 2031 Buffalo Terrace in the Montrose area of Houston, will kick off their ‘Home for the Holidays’ shopping experience on Black Friday, November 26, 2021, with the addition of a Mini Christmas Tree Farm that will stay open through Christmas Eve. The Mini Tree Farm will offer a variety of locally sourced 4-6 ft fresh Christmas trees, fresh pine and fir garlands and beautiful fresh Christmas wreaths to decorate and fill your home with the natural beauty and aroma of the holiday season!

On Sunday, December 5, 2021, The Plant Project will be offering a Free ‘Home for the Holidays’ Plant Party from 10am-2pm with a Farmers Market featuring unique gifts and goods from local farmers, artists, makers and curators including all-natural, handmade soaps, candles, bath and beauty products, handcrafted jewelry, fresh produce and herbs, fresh baked goods, handmade jams, sauces and seasonings, lush houseplants, fresh Christmas trees, wreaths and greens, and more!

The free event is family-friendly and also includes music, Holiday Family Photo Ops, the Pit King BBQ Food Truck, and some extra holiday cheer for adults with a Boozy Hot Chocolate & Cider Bar and Cigar & Holiday Cocktail Pairing Class from The Traveling Spirit!

“Shopping local not only offers a more positive, personal experience for the shopper and the recipient of holiday gifts, it plays such an important role in supporting small business owners and reinvesting in the community we live and work in,” said Bree Iman Clarke, Founder of The Plant Project. “Our Home for the Holidays theme is really fun way to bring the community together to shop, share, and keep the cheer right here in Houston this holiday season!”

Clarke, a Houston native who opened the first black female-owned plant shop in Dallas last year, opened The Plant Project Houston in July 2021 with her husband Carlos. The unique boutique, whose motto is “never stop growing”, is as much of an experiential space for the community as it is a beautifully curated plant shop that brings self-care, diversity and a love of plants together in a welcoming environment. The Plant Project shop offers expert advice on gift and plant selection and care, nationwide shipping, local pick-up and delivery, and a variety of hands-on and how-to workshops.

The Plant Project Houston will be offering the Mini Christmas Tree Farm and ‘Home for the Holidays’ one-of-a-kind gifts, products and experiences that give back to local merchants throughout the month of December! The shop is open Tuesday-Friday from 12pm-6pm, Saturdays from 10am-3pm, and every other Sunday from 10am-3pm.
