Founder, Muriel Salimin, was born in The Netherlands, has Surinamese/Indonesian family roots and moved to New York more than 20 years ago, where she started to build a career in the men’s fashion industry. She founded MUUR in 2018 with the intent to fuse her passion for design and philanthropy. Muriel designs every product, and then personally travels to the workshops she partners with around the world to meet with the artisans who craft them, establishing fair and sustainable relationships through every step of the process. Every MUUR product is a reflection of Muriel’s dedication to detail and intention.
