Last Week, Fort Bend County Judge KP George announced the addition of $2.1 Million in childcare voucher funds to provide financial assistance to Fort Bend County families economically impacted by COVID-19.

Fort Bend County residents are eligible to receive vouchers of up to $500 per child for up to three (3) children per family that can be used to help offset childcare costs for Fort Bend County residents who face financial instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The voucher can be used for childcare services at licensed childcare facilities in Fort Bend County.

The Fort Bend County Childcare Voucher program not only provides for struggling families, but it also helps daycare facilities by providing clients and guaranteeing payment for childcare services. This program also helps employers who have struggled to maintain a stable workforce due to employees' struggles to access childcare.

Applicants for the childcare vouchers must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Be a Fort Bend County resident at the time of application

Child must be under 13 years of age

Meet the Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) level criteria: 80% of the 2019 LMI income levels
