Houston, TX (September 23, 2021) - Nazla Johnson is an author and seasoned multimillion-dollar producing Real Estate Powerhouse who is celebrating 20 years in the industry which was momentously marked on December 31, 2020. Nazla was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. At the age of seven, Nazla moved to Houston, TX from her mother’s island, St. Kitts/ Nevis, an island in the Caribbean. In migrating to America, Nazla’s mother was determined to make a good life for her children, and to instill the importance of receiving a good education. As a result, all three children have received college degrees.

She graduated from Jack Yates Sr High School in 1994, and pursued a higher education at Texas Southern University where she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. After completing her undergrad, Nazla started her career in Real Estate in December 2000. Determined to achieve excellence in her field, she later received a Master’s in Business Administration. In her early career, the real estate aficionado carved a niche for herself by becoming a Real Estate Investment Specialist in the mid to early 2000’s, where she built investment portfolios for many investors in the Greater Houston area. Nazla’s clever skills in the industry afforded her success as one of the top producing Real Estate agents with Keller Williams Realty Southwest. During the mid 2000’s, she was the youngest African American female on the Agent Leadership Council and has taken a seat on numerous real estate boards. Nazla has received many top producing real estate awards, and was ranked number 12 as an individual Agent in the city of Houston at Keller Williams Realty.

Nazla has utilized her expertise through purchasing, repairing, and selling many homes over the years. When the real estate market declined in 2006, she was able to redirect her business focus to assist many families with stopping their foreclosures. The real estate expert published “The Art of Real Estate Investing - A Comprehensive Guide to Stopping Foreclosure.” This guide was created to help those who were experiencing hardships during the market crash and continues to be relevant today. The book was written during a very trying time, including many personal challenges for Nazla, but serves as a testimony to her great faith and resolve.

Nazla’s Continued Passion for Leadership

The Keller Williams ALC or Agent Leadership Council is made up of the top 20% of agents in each office. This dynamic ‘board of directors’ is actively involved in the leadership decisions that make the office more productive and profitable. Their roles are to inspire, motivate, participate, and listen. By having input from the board, each real estate office can tailor their strategies to thrive in all stages of the market. Nazla sits on the Keller Williams South Texas Regional Social Equality Task Force as an Ambassador, a special operation developed to eliminate racial disparities within Keller Williams Realty and the Real Estate industry. She has effectively mentored real estate agents, many of which have become Top Producing agents in the Houston area. In addition, she is committed to serve on the 2021 Agent Leadership Council at Keller Williams Realty Northeast.

Currently, Nazla is a Top Producing real estate agent, and the CEO of the Johnson Real Estate Group, LLC, powered by Keller Williams Realty Northeast.

Her Purpose Became Greater

Outside of her Real Estate career, Nazla is the Founder of The Nazla Johnson Foundation, a non-profit organization that aids women and girls that are victims of Domestic Violence and Rape. Nazla was compelled to start The Nazla Johnson Foundation as a result of being a rape victim herself.

Nazla was a troubled youth, and like so many young women she suppressed her trauma, yet she still persevered. Later in life, Nazla was led to a church that taught her how to apply the word of God to her life, and in doing so, she was healed from the bondage of abuse. Thus, her goal is to help women and girls heal from scars of rape and domestic violence. She desires to give them the freedom and a forum to work through the pain to heal.

“Your past doesn’t dictate your future. I’m committed to inspire other abuse victims to share their truth and to assist them in overcoming their fears.” - Nazla Johnson

According to the National Coalition of Domestic Violence, 1 in 5 women in the United States have been raped in their lifetime. In reference to NISVS (National Sexual Violence Resource Center), most female victims of completed rape (79.6%) experienced their first rape before the age of 25; 42.2% experienced their first completed rape before the age of 18 years.

Nazla serves as the Membership Coordinator for Safe Diversity Communities, a non-profit organization formerly known as Barbara Jordan Endeavors. This non-profit organization focuses on stopping the stigma of bullying, reducing the dropout and suicide rate for at-risk high school students with disabilities who are emotionally and mentally challenged.

The Rewards of Perseverance

Today Nazla lives her life with purpose as a successful business woman and philanthropist. This brings her great joy.

Her love for God mimics her love for mankind. Her mother, siblings, extended family and close friends are all very dear to her. Meet her once and she will become your best friend.

The kind-hearted Realtor truly believes her clients’ needs come first. She wants her clients to not only have a great experience during their sale process, but to experience world class customer service. Nazla views herself as a “Real Estate Doctor”, due to aiding and saving homeowners in trouble during the 2006 market crash. She also considers herself a Real Estate Consultant rather than just a Real Estate Agent.

"I have a consultation with my clients to discover their needs, wants and goals for their desired home.” Nazla states she is building a brand with one word, TRUST.

This dynamic, fun loving soul has experienced so much at an early age but never gave up. “Anyone can overcome if they push past the obstacles thrown to them in this life.”

In her off time she loves traveling to international destinations. The business woman has visited many places around the globe, including China, Japan, Korea, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. " I want to see the world God created."

Nazla wants others to know they too can succeed against the odds life may throw their way. “We are overcomers by our testimonies. Anyone can persevere through the trials of life’s obstacles with determination and faith in God.”

In the Fall of 2021, Nazla will launch the Texas School of Real Estate where she will provide real estate education and teach others the craft.

Over the years, Nazla Johnson has been an inspiration to many and she continues to inspire others through both her professional and personal life. We hope you too have been inspired by the Real Estate professional that celebrates 20 years in the real estate industry and is still standing.
