As part of the company’s Together Somos Más campaign, Walmart is working with local Hispanic artists to celebrate the community and culture.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Walmart will unveil a 39’ x 25’ mural commissioned to honor the local Hispanic community. The mural was created by Houston-based artist David Maldonado.

This mural is part of the Together Somos Más campaign, which Walmart launched during Hispanic Heritage Month to empower Hispanic communities across the country by supporting local Latino muralists, writers and artists and promoting Latino suppliers, customers and teammates.

The mural is also part of Walmart’s ongoing Community Mural Program. Since its inception in 2019, Walmart has successfully installed 742 murals across 46 states, including 113 in Texas, by commissioning local artists.

The Houston area is home to more than 750 murals, according to the website Houston Mural Map, a crowd-sourced database funded in part by the city.

The unveiling will happen on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Walmart Supercenter, 2391 S Wayside Dr., Houston, TX 77023.
