As one of the largest community healthcare organizations in Texas, Legacy Community Health, is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and to recognize the Hispanic leaders within its organization.

For 40 years, Legacy has provided essential healthcare to people of all ages and backgrounds. Services like adult primary care, pediatrics, dental care, vision services, behavioral health services, OB/GYN, vaccinations and immunizations, health promotion and community outreach, wellness and nutrition, and comprehensive HIV/AIDS care have drawn thousands of people to its clinics annually, especially those with limited access to healthcare.

In 2020, Legacy served approximately 200,000 patients, 60 percent of whom were Hispanic. Similarly, the majority of Legacy’s 1,240 employees are Hispanic, numbering 758 in total.

Daily, patients at Legacy’s 45 clinics are being served by recognized physicians and specialists, many of whom are from Latin countries like Argentina, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Legacy Community Health recognizes these influential Latinas who are driving healthy change in our communities.

An immigrant herself, Dr. Solano believes in compassionate and competent care for underserved and minority communities.

Dr. Lindsay Vasquez - Dr. Vasquez is a third generation Mexican-American and was born in Austin, TX and raised in central Texas. Her family then moved to Indiana where she completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Indiana University.

After a year of graduate school in medical science she went on to earn her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. Much of her time was spent in indigent clinics in urban Indianapolis and in rural communities of Honduras providing care to the Hispanic community.
