On July 31, 2022, Dr. Sonia White and Dr. Mya Smith-Edmonds, hosted the Inaugural 1st Presidential Youth Awards, presented by Ameri Corps. During the ceremony, an array of amazing youth were recognized for their overall character, integrity and willingness to make the world a better place. The categories for honorees included: kids, teens and young adults. The esteemed keynote speaker, founder of Sienna Sauce and featured on Shark Tank (secured a deal), Tyla- Symone Crayton, delivered an uplifting, powerful and motivating speech that had the audience, beyond inspired.

Dr. Mya Smith-Edmonds, Co-Founder ofthe Smith Foundation, Inc. and Multi-McDonald’s franchise owner served elegantly as the Mistress ofHonor. Special guest performances graced the stage throughout the night from honorees. Among those performers were, America's Got Talent finalist, Victory Brinker; Houston native Gregory Daniels II, also known as "Lil Sax Man” and a special performance was given by Samirah Horton aka DJ Annie Red, who was featured on the Nick Cannon Show, for anti-bullying. She performed some of her original soundtracks.

Additional prestigious awards were also presented during the ceremony.

The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and Congressional Award from the 18th District was presented to Chauncy Glover for his nonprofit, The Chauncy Glover Project, which is an extensive, hands-on mentoring program, created to groom inner-city teenage boys into upstanding and accomplished gentlemen.

Dr. Sonia White, Dr. Mya Smith-Edmonds and Dr. Harry L. Smith, Jr. received a special United States * House of Representatives Certificate of Congressional Recognition award from Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee, 18th District.

Dr. Sonia White received special recognitions from State Rep. Ron Reynolds and State Rep. Shawn Thierry on behalf of the Texas State * House of Representatives for outstanding leadership and community service.

Two Scholarships were presented to young men from the S.M.I.L.E Foundation (Smart Men in Leadership Excellence). The Smith Foundation, Inc. also presented both scholarship recipients with LAPTOPS.

Influential guest included: Miss Houston Teen 2022, Marcela Hymes; Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee; State Rep. Ron Reynolds; State Rep. Shawn Thierry; Judge Wanda Adams; Dr. Harry L. Smith, Jr. Founder of The Smith Foundation, Inc., real estate mogul, and multi-McDonald’s franchise owner; and Jammin' Jimmy Olson. 2021 Inductee Texas Radio Hall of Fame - Radio Personality - Helping Children in Need Since 1999.
