The O’Gauge Model Railroad Club will be running the holiday trains, and Santa will be visiting and taking free photos with guests. This event is free and open to the public.
The Imperial Calcasieu Museum Gift Shoppe showcases over 14 artists, artisans and a wide selection of literature. Come visit and support our Local History and Art this holiday season by picking up something truly unique for your friends and family!
The Imperial Calcasieu Museum will be teaming up with Chef Amanda Cusey and Do Good Dog Rescue to host “Canines & Cocktails: A Night of Fine Dining” in downtown Lake Charles’ Paramount Room on Friday, December 16th, 2022. This event will serve the community by raising funds to continue the support of cultural, artistic, and animal placement initiatives provided by the nonprofits hosting this evening’s dinner. The night will feature a delicious five-course culinary spread as well as a silent auction, musical entertainment by Jairus Daigle, and live painting by Ashley Royer and Kat Godsey. Tickets for this event can be purchased through Eventbrite.
The “Hue Are You?” exhibit will be on display in the Gibson-Barham Gallery until December 31st. This show features the artwork and handmade creations by Jen Van Putten, Mary Williams, and Ashton Cessac of Southwest Louisiana. The core question of every piece designed in this show asks: Who are you? It seems like a simple answer, yet it’s entirely nuanced. So, what will you experience and discover about yourself as you travel through this exhibit?
Yoga Under the Oak continues Saturday, Dec. 17, and Dec 31 at 9 a.m. Join the yin yoga practice, focused primarily on conscious breathing in postures intended to relax the body and engage the mind. Please bring your own mat or light blanket for practice. Setup starts at 8:30 a.m. This event is free and open to the public.
