National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), the nation’s premier mother-daughter non-profit organization, announced the formation of the Palomas Chapter. With the addition of the Palomas Chapter, NCL now has 289 chapters across the country and 40 chapters in Houston, TX.

The Palomas Chapter is open to mothers and daughters who reside in or attend school in the area North of the 610 and East of 290. Last year, the chapters in Houston, TX served over 200,000 philanthropy hours and continue to make an impact in local communities.

In addition to participating in national philanthropic initiatives, the chapter’s inaugural members will have the opportunity to choose which local organizations they will support through hands-on volunteer service hours. Daughters in 7th through 12th grade, known as Ticktockers, and their mothers, known as Patronesses, will together embark on a core program focused on philanthropy, strengthening mother-daughter relationships, cultural experiences and leadership opportunities.

Chapter President Susie Molina said, “I did not really want to start a new chapter but what really convinced me was that when I looked at the NCL map, there was not a chapter in our area. There were NCL chapters dotted all around our area, but our community was completely blank. So, I basically decided we need our dot! So here we are! 113 members strong!”
