Latino Victory Fund announced its endorsement of six Latino congressional candidates in key districts across the country, including two new candidates, Patrick Pihana Branco, Hawaii 2nd Congressional District and Annette Taddeo, Florida 27th Congressional District. The slate also includes four incumbents in their re-election campaigns: Veronica Escobar, Texas 16th Congressional District; Adriano Espaillat, New York 13th Congressional District; Jimmy Gomez, California 34th Congressional District; Mike Levin, California 49th Congressional District.

Statement by Nathalie Rayes, Latino Victory Fund President and CEO:

“At a time when our democracy, civil rights, and reproductive rights are all on the ballot in November, we can’t give one single inch in congressional races because there’s so much at stake. We’re proud to back two new congressional candidates Patrick Pihana Branco, a young leader and legislator who will further diversify the House; and Annette Taddeo, a proven leader and legislator who has what it takes to win in November.

“We proudly continue to support these four congressional incumbents: Congresswoman Escobar, Congressman Espaillat, Congressman Gomez, and Congressman Levin who are proven leaders in Congress and outspoken fighters for reproductive rights, immigration rights, gun violence reform, and environmental rights—all issues that matter to Latinos. Latino Victory is prepared to invest heavily to protect our Latino incumbents and boost our red-to-blue candidates. Taddeo and Branco’s races are also key to energizing Florida and Hawaii Latino voters and increasing Latino Democratic representation in the House. We’re prepared to do everything in our power to keep the U.S. House under Democratic leadership.”

Latino Victory has previously endorsed Escobar, Espaillat, Gomez and Levin, and the organization endorsed Taddeo in her race for governor of Florida. Taddeo is running in a Republican-held congressional seat previously held by a Democrat.
