Fort Bend County Judge KP George along with Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan, the Department of Health and Human Services, Emergency Medical Services, Department of Social Services, and Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will host a Summer Safety Preparedness Press Conference on Friday, July 8, at 12:30 p.m., at the Fort Bend County Emergency Operations Center, 307 Fort St., Richmond, TX 77469.
Amid hurricane season and average daily temperatures predicted to rise well into 100 degrees, Fort Bend County Officials will detail public safety precautions, share emergency management information, heat and water safety tips, and assistance programs available to help support residents in need during the extreme temperatures of the summer months.
“While many of us are now getting out to enjoy the sunshine, the heat can be dangerous, especially for our children, older residents, and also our pets,” said Fort Bend County Judge KP George. “It is important that we let our residents know what safety precautions and what services are available to them as the temperatures continue to rise.”
