Sonia R. White Enterprises, LLC has announced that its 2022 awards event will host its inaugural year, this summer, highlighting the most influential young trailblazers whose talents include a 9-year-old opera singer and NBCs America’s Got Talent Finalist, a 17-year old consumer goods rising star who secured a deal on ABC’s Shark Tank and a 9-Year old whose mission is to help strengthen ties between the community and law enforcement, with books as the currency to help uneasy children during police encounters, just to name a few.
The impactful awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, July 31st in Houston, TX and will hold space for students, youth honorees and their guests—family & friends. The host, Sonia White, who is a USAF Veteran and Healthcare professional, infamously brought the first documented historic Presidential Awards to Houston,TX under President Obama
and as they prepare for their 4th annual Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award on December 4th, it was important to also honor young adults with their own ceremony. “I decided to do the youth awards because our young people need to know they are appreciated, noticed and deserving of recognition for their work and commitment. They are our future leaders!” says the Presidential Awards Coordinator, Sonia White.
Former Honorees of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement awards include, award-winning rapper and humanitarian, Trae the Truth, longtime patrolman/officer who has received national attention for his actions concerning the people of his community, most notably his charitable actions toward the youth within his jurisdiction- Tommy Norman, U.S. representative for Texas's 18th congressional district Sheila Jackson Lee, and 62nd mayor of Houston, Texas-, Sylvester Turner, just to name a few.
The anticipated event will also highlight and raise donations for the S.M.I.L.E. Foundation, a non-profit foundation that mentors young men of color. (website)
